Amor con esperanza | Love with hope

ARRORRÓ hizo una grabación en Bogotá, Colombia. La participación de Esperanza Caycedo fue un testimonio especial, no sólo por ser familiar de un miembro del equipo de trabajo. Esperanza es madre de dos hijos que a ambos les gusta mucho las canciones de cuna, posiblemente por el entusiamo y amor con que su mamá les canta.
Su hijo Lewis, de 26 años, que vive en EEUU, todavia le pide que le cante canciones por teléfono. Su hija mayor, Karen, de 31, tiene un retraso psicomotor. Esperanza nos explicó que “para los niños especiales la música es muy importante, sobretodo la infantil. Los hace reaccionar mucho haciendolos sentir en su mundo. Se quedan felices y los hace participar con la gente. Karen la escucha todos los dias.”

ARRORRÓ made a recording in Bogota, Colombia. Esperanza Caycedo’s participation was special, not only for being a relative of a team member.
Esperanza – her name in spanish means hope – is the mother of two children who both love lullabies, possibly due to the enthusiasm and love that their mother put into singing to them.
His son Lewis, 26, who lives in the U.S., still asks his mother to sing lullabies on the phone. Her eldest daughter, Karen, 31, has a psychomotor disabillity. Esperanza explained that “music is very important for mentally challenged children, especially lullabies. They react to the music, making them feel in their world. They become happy and interact more with people. Karen listens lullabies every day.”

Destino Mendoza | Destination Mendoza

En cada una de las visitas que el equipo de Arrorró ha realizado a diferentes provincias argentinas, siempre contó con la colaboración de una o más personas para organizar previamente decenas de temas que no pueden ser librados al azar. En este caso, Gabriela y Abel viajaron a Mendoza gracias a la cooperación del Lic. Diego Bosquet, Director de Patrimonio de la Provincia y la Sra. Susana Delgado, quien trabaja en la Casa de Cultura de Mendoza en Buenos Aires.

Puntualmente, Gabriela y Abel visitaron la ciudad de Mendoza y sus alrededores: Potrerillos y Uspallata. Allí decenas de personas se mostraron abiertas y comprometidas con los pilares de Arrorró: la memoria, la identidad y la diversidad cultural.

Con hermosos paisajes de montaña como escenario, el coro de la colectividad eslovena, dirigido justamente por el Lic. Bosquet, cantó para nosotros una emocionante canción de cuna. También Gabriela y Abel recogieron testimonios en italiano, asturiano y francés que no hicieron otra cosa que manifestar la diversidad lingüística y cultural de nuestra nación.

Each visit that the Arrorró team has done to different argentinian provinces, received the collaboration of people to organize dozens of issues that could not be left to chance. In this case, Gabriela and Abel went to Mendoza thanks to the cooperation of Mr. Bosquet Diego, Director of Heritage of the Province and Ms. Susana Delgado, who works at the Mendoza’s Culture House in Buenos Aires.

Specifically, Gabriela and Abel visited the city of Mendoza and its surroundings: Potrerillos and Uspallata. There, dozens of people showed open and committed to the pillars of Arrorró: memory, identity and cultural diversity.

With beautiful mountain landscapes as scenery, the chorus of the Slovenian community, led by Mr. Bosquet sang for us a moving lullaby. Gabriela and Abel also collected testimonies in Italian, French and Spaniard that expressed the linguistic and cultural diversity of our nation.

Villa Traful + Villa La Angostura, Neuquén

Gabriela y Abel fueron a Villa Traful y a Villa La Angostura, en la provincia de Neuquén a recoger canciones de cuna. Con la colaboración de una habitante del lugar, Carolina Sotolano, quien vive en Villa Traful junto con Ismael y Mateo, pudimos conectarnos con los pobladores del lugar, pobladores desde siempre y nuevos pobladores.
El marco imponente del paisaje de los lagos y de la montaña encuadró nuestra experiencia y podrá verse reflejado en los testimonios.

Gabriela and Abel traveled to Villa Traful and Villa La Angostura, in Neuquén to collect lullabies. Thanks to the grateful collaboration from a local female inhabitant, Carolina Sotolano, who lives in Villa Traful with Ismael and Mateo, we could get along with the town settlers, ancient dwellers and new dwellers.
The impressive lakes and mountain landscape framed our experience and you’ll be able to see it on the testimonies we recorded.

Después de recorrer la capital de punta a punta, decidimos ir en busca de nuevas experiencias en el interior, y Facundo tomó su primer viaje hacia la ciudad de sus origenes: Tres Arroyos. El reencuentro con la tranquilidad, la naturaleza y muchas personas que brindaron todo su tiempo y dedicación a cantarnos las más dulces canciones de cuna.
Y no paramos, seguimos explorando territorios y conociendo gente, seguimos recolectando canciones y nuevas experiencias.

After touring the city from end to end, we decided to go for new experiences within, Facundo took his first trip to the city of their origin: Tres Arroyos. He joined tranquility, nature and many people who gave their time and dedication to sing the sweetest lullabies.
And we don’t stop, we continue exploring territories and meeting people. We keep collecting songs and new experiences.
